Abraham Benrubi was born on October 4, 1969, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the eldest child of Patricia and Asher Benrubi. His father, Asher, was “The Smash,” the lead singer of the rock band Roadmaster, before becoming a radio personality in St. Louis.
