He graduated from Syosset High School and briefly attended the New York Institute of Technology before leaving to pursue music full-time.

Adam Pascal was working as a personal trainer when he auditioned on a whim for Rent in 1996, landing the lead role of Roger Davis opposite Daphne Rubin-Vega.

The original production earned him a Tony Award nomination, a Theatre World Award, and an Obie Award.

He went on to originate the role of Radames in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida (2000), played the Emcee in the 2003 Cabaret revival, and later starred as Freddie Trumper in Chess (2018 concert), Huey Calhoun in Memphis, and Shakespeare in Something Rotten!.

On screen, he reprised Roger in the 2005 film adaptation of Rent and appeared in films such as SLC Punk! (1998) and School of Rock (2003).

As a solo artist, he has released three studio albums—Model Prisoner (2000), Civilian (2004), and Blinding Light (2008 with pianist Larry Edoff)—and continues to tour with his band and in Rent anniversary concerts.
