Elmo Moses Arroyo Magalona was born on April 27, 1994, in Manila, Philippines, to Francis Magalona, a pioneering Filipino rapper known as Francis M, and Pia Arroyo-Magalona.

The sixth of eight siblings, including actors Maxene, Frank, Saab, Arkin, and Clara, Elmo grew up in a family steeped in entertainment, with grandparents Pancho Magalona and Tita Duran, and great-grandfather, former senator Enrique Magalona.
