Career
Maciej Stuhr burst onto the scene while still a student with the cult comedies Fuks (1999) and Chłopaki nie płaczą (2000), instantly becoming the face of a new generation of Polish cinema.
He quickly added box-office successes such as Poranek kojota (2001), Vinci (2004) and Testosteron (2007), establishing himself as a reliable romantic-comedy lead and skilled voice actor (Polish voice of Shrek, among many others).
In the 2010s he deliberately broadened his range, earning critical acclaim and his first Polish Academy Award for the controversial Holocaust-themed drama Pokłosie (2012) and later winning Eagles again for The Getaway King (2021) and Letters to Santa 4 (2021).
He has also become one of Poland’s sharpest political satirists through his one-man shows and the long-running late-night programme Sprawa dla reportera – kabaret (later StuhrWars), in which he openly mocks politicians and social taboos.
Maciej Stuhr remains extraordinarily active across all media. Recent highlights include starring in the Netflix series The Green Glove Gang (2022–2024), the historical epic Filip (2023), the comedy thriller The Taming of the Shrewd 2 (2023), and continuing his sold-out stand-up tours.
He is a member of the European Film Academy and one of the few Polish actors whose films regularly cross the million-ticket mark.
