Saïd M’Roumbaba was born on January 14, 1979, in Marseille, France. He was raised in the northern districts of Marseille, specifically in areas known as Plan d’Aou and Les Balustres.

His family background is rooted in Comorian heritage, and he was brought up in the Islamic faith. His father worked as a handyman on oil tankers, while his mother was employed as a housekeeper.

Career

Soprano began his musical journey in the mid-1990s by forming the group KDB (Kids Dog Black) with his cousins, Alonzo and Vincenzo, and his childhood friend, DJ Sya Styles.

This group later evolved into Psy 4 de la Rime, which gained recognition in the French hip-hop scene. They released several albums, including Block Party (2002), Enfants de la Lune (2005), Les Cités d’Or (2008), and 4ème Dimension (2013).

Embarking on a solo career, Soprano released his debut album Puisqu’il Faut Vivre in 2007, which achieved commercial success and critical acclaim.
