Early Life and Education

Agnieszka Urszula Dygant was born on 27 March 1973 in Piaseczno, a town just south of Warsaw. She has one younger sister, Natalia. She spent her childhood and teenage years in Piaseczno and Warsaw, where she attended the renowned XIV Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Stanisława Staszica high school.

In 1997 she graduated from the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. Ethnically he is Polish and in terms of religion, she was raised Roman Catholic, but has described herself as non-religious in interviews.

Agnieszka Dygant began her career in theatre immediately after graduation, performing at Warsaw’s Teatr Współczesny and Teatr Rozmaitości (TR Warszawa). She made her screen debut in the late 1990s with small roles in television series and films, but her real breakthrough came in 2005 when she was cast as the cheeky nanny Fran Fine (Polish version: Frania Maj) in the local adaptation of The Nanny – Niania.
