Aimee Carrero’s early career included appearances in short films in 2007. Her first major film role came in 2009 with Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. Around the same time she had guest roles on series such as The Mentalist, Hannah Montana, Lincoln Heights, Greek, The Middle, Zeke and Luther, among others.

In 2011, she was cast as Angie in the Cartoon Network live-action film Level Up, a role she reprised in the subsequent Level Up television series, which ran through 2013. In 2012 she also appeared in the Lifetime TV film Blue Lagoon: The Awakening and made her Off-Broadway theatre debut in What Rhymes with America.

Her later roles included Devil’s Due (2014), recurring in The Americans (also around 2014), and then landing the lead in Young & Hungry, which significantly raised her profile. Her voice work as Princess Elena in Elena of Avalor and as Adora/She-Ra in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power extended her career into animation. More recently she has appeared in Maid (2021), The Menu (2022), Upgraded (2023), The Consultant (2023) and been cast in Your Friends & Neighbors (2025).
