Kayla Ewell is now 40 years old, having been born on August 27, 1985. She and her family moved shortly after her birth from Long Beach to nearby Seal Beach, California. Her father, Darrell Robert Ewell, and her mother, Susan M. Middough, raised her alongside her three siblings: Chasen, Jenica and Blake.  

From an early age, she trained in dance, singing and acting at the Orange County Song & Dance Company in Westminster, California, where she was discovered by a talent agent around 1999.

Personal Life

Ewell met actor Tanner Novlan on the set of Sick Puppies’ music video “Maybe.” They became engaged in early 2015 and married on September 12, 2015, in Los Angeles. The couple welcomed their daughter, Poppy Marie Novlan, on July 16, 2019, and their son, Jones Douglas Novlan, on June 6, 2022.

Ewell debuted on-screen in 2000 with a guest role as Maureen Sampson on Freaks and Geeks. She secured the regular role of Caitlin Ramirez on The Bold and the Beautiful from 2004 to 2005, appearing in more than 135 episodes. She made guest appearances in The O.C., Boston Public, Veronica Mars, Entourage, and several other shows.

In 2006, she appeared in films Just My Luck and Material Girls. In 2009, she joined The Vampire Diaries as Vicki Donovan, a character she reprised through to 2017.
