Lidia Ávila began her entertainment career young, performing on stage at age ten with roles in theatre productions such as “Vaselina” (1989) in Mexico. In 1991 she joined the pop group La Onda Vaselina, which later re-branded as OV7.

The group achieved multiple hits in the 1990s and 2000s including “Qué Triste Es el Primer Adiós” and “Calendario de Amor”. When OV7 announced its “gira del adiós” in June 2003, the band paused its activities and Lidia pursued solo projects.

In 2004 she released her self-titled solo album, shifting toward regional Mexican styles and collaborating with noted producers and artists. Her second album, “Así Como Me Ves”, followed in 2005.
