Jen Chia-hsüan is now 44 years old, born on October 31, 1981, in Shilin District of Taipei, Taiwan. Her father Milton Jen formerly worked in the technology industry and has been involved with the entertainment world; her mother Jui-Lan Cheng is a homemaker.

She has one younger sister, Lorene Jen, who also pursued singing and acting. Selina attended National Taiwan Normal University, graduating on June 11, 2004 with a Bachelor of Education degree majoring in Civic Education and Leadership.

Selina entered into marriage with lawyer Richard Chang (Zhang Cheng-zhong) on October 31, 2011. The marriage ended in divorce on April 27, 2016. In March 2022 she publicly confirmed a relationship with a non-celebrity partner, seven years her junior. In September 2023 she announced the birth of her son, whom she affectionately nicknames “Little Cashew”.

Career

Selina’s career began when she entered a talent competition hosted by HIM International Music in the year 2000, in place of her younger sister who was too young to participate.

After auditioning and progressing through multiple rounds she was signed by the company, and in 2001 she debuted as part of the girl group S.H.E. With S.H.E she released multiple albums and established a signature sound and pop-group presence in Mandarin-language music.

Her acting credentials include roles in television dramas such as The Rose (2003) and Reaching for the Stars (2005). On October 22, 2010 she was severely injured in an on-set explosion during the filming of the series I Have a Date with Spring, sustaining third-degree burns over more than 54% of her body.

She underwent skin-grafting treatments and a long recovery process, returning to public work in the years that followed. In 2015 she launched her solo music career with the studio album 3.1415. In 2022 she released another solo album titled My Own Beauty.

She also ventured into the food and lifestyle industry, launching a packaged porridge business under the brand name Ren Sing Eat Shot.
