Known as ‘VJ Sriya,’ she gained fame among young audiences. She made her film debut in the Tamil movie Samurai (2002), playing a supporting role alongside Vikram.
Her first Telugu film, Appudappudu (2003), was a commercial failure, leading to a year-long hiatus. In 2004, she made her debut in Malayalam cinema with Black, starring opposite Mammootty as a de-glamorized Tamil village woman, a role she considers a career highlight.
That same year, she played a rich girl in the English film 19 Revolutions, directed by Shridhar Reddy, which performed well in the US.
