Susan Walters was born on September 28, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Chamblee High School and later moved to New York City at the age of 18 after signing with Elite Modelling Agency. She was crowned Miss Georgia in 1981, marking her first significant public recognition before embarking on her modelling and acting careers.

Susan Walters began her television career in 1983 as Lorna Forbes on Loving, a role she played until late 1986. In 1987, she made her film debut in Russkies and earned a high-profile television role as Priscilla Presley in the biographical film Elvis and Me.

Producer Aaron Spelling cast her in Hotel (1987–1988), Nightingales (1988–1989), and Melrose Place (1998), and she gained pop-culture fame as “Mulva” (real name Dolores) in Seinfeld’s “The Junior Mint” (1993) and “The Foundation” (1996).

She starred as Anne Osborne in The Big Easy (1996–1997) and joined The Young and the Restless as Diane Jenkins from 2001 to 2004, returning for guest stints in 2010 and resuming the role in March 2022.

Concurrently, she held recurring roles on One Tree Hill, Drop Dead Diva, The Vampire Diaries and Teen Wolf, and guest-starred on series including How to Get Away with Murder, The Flash and Good Trouble.
