Early Life and Education

Véronique Leysen is now 39 years old. She was born on 17 January 1986 in Mechelen, Belgium. She studied arts at the Stedelijk Instituut voor Sierkunsten en Ambachten in Antwerp, where she took early acting steps.

Later she studied audiovisual arts and pursued journalism. In the period 2008-2009 she studied criminology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Also in 2021 she began studies in interior architecture.

Véronique Leysen’s first major role was Roxanne Boisier in the youth soap Spring, which she played between 2005 and 2008. From 2008 until 2011 she played Marie-Claire de La Fayette in the children’s series Amika on Ketnet.

Between December 2009 and September 2013 she served as the “Ketnetwrapper,” presenter role, and front singer of the Ketnetband. She has also had guest appearances in numerous Flemish television shows such as Lang Leve…, Vermist, De Kotmadam, Code 37, Aspe, LouisLouise, among others.

Beyond acting and presenting, Leysen has built entrepreneurial roles. She is author of two knitting-books Nog een breiboek?! and Nog een ander breiboek?! She started her own knitwear and coffee label “Maurice coffee & knits”, named after her grandfather Maurice Leysen.

She opened coffee bars under that brand; one was forced to close due to asbestos, another she sold, and later opened a new one in Sint-Annakapel as part of a franchise system.
