Building on this success, Flume released his second album, Skin, in 2016. The album won Best Dance/Electronic Album at the ARIA Awards and earned him a Grammy nomination.

During this period, Flume also co-founded the duo What So Not with Emoh Instead, active from 2011 to 2015, before shifting his focus to his solo career.
Flume continued to evolve artistically with the release of the surprise mixtape Hi This Is Flume in 2019, known for its experimental style, followed by the critically acclaimed third album Palaces in 2022.
