Gnakouri Armand Olivier Okou was born on 30 January 1980 in Cocody, Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Following the death of his father shortly after his birth, his mother relocated with her seven children to France in 1983, settling in Paris before moving to Sevran in the Seine-Saint-Denis department.
