Lucy Alves is now 39 years old. She was born on 6 March 1986 in João Pessoa, in the northeastern Brazilian state of Paraíba. She grew up in a musical family: her father, José Hilton Alves, and her mother, Maria José Alves, were both involved in music and encouraged her early development.

At age four, Lucy joined the Projeto Formiguinhas and later became a violinist in youth orchestras in Paraíba and Recife.
