Selfi Yamma was born on September 7, 1999, in Macanre, Soppeng, Sulawesi Selatan, Indonesia. As the eldest of three siblings, she grew up in a close-knit family, influenced by the local culture and music.

Selfi Yamma attended SD Negeri 22 Pasinringi Macanre, Soppeng, graduating in 2014, followed by SMP Negeri 1 Lilirilau, Soppeng, where she graduated in 2017 and was recognized for academic achievements.

Career

Selfi Yamma began her career at age four, singing at local events in Soppeng. Throughout her teenage years, she joined electone music groups and performed at community celebrations, helping to support her family.

In 2017, she participated in Pencarian Raja & Ratu Dangdut Sulawesi, achieving second place with Elvy Sukaesih’s Seujung Kuku, and also won the women’s category at the Festival Lagu Daerah Bugis Se-Sulawesi with Mugajang Atikku.

Her big break arrived in 2018 when she won Liga Dangdut Indonesia (LIDA) on Indosiar, earning half a billion rupiah and a contract with Trinity Optima Production and Stream Entertainment.

During this competition, her standout performance of Rita Sugiarto’s Kupu-Kupu earned multiple standing ovations.

Following this, she won D’Academy Asia 4 in 2018, scoring 1,157 points to claim first place. That same year, her debut single, Menuju Terang, written by Nur Bayan, marked her rise.
