Career
After completing his MBA, Dan Benton began his career as a securities analyst in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Research department in 1984.
He quickly rose to become the top-ranked computer industry analyst on Wall Street from 1988 to 1993.
In 1993, he joined Dawson Samberg Capital Management as a technology analyst and portfolio manager, and later served as President of Pequot Capital Management from 1999 to 2001, overseeing growth in public market technology assets from $300 million to $15 billion.
In September 2001, Benton founded Andor Capital Management and led it as CEO until closing the fund in 2016, at which point he launched Benton Capital Management as his private family office.
He has since served on numerous boards, including Colgate University, the Hospital for Special Surgery, Horace Mann School, Khan Academy, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
