Pierson Fodé is a twice Emmy-nominated actor best known for playing Thomas Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful and for his breakout role in Netflix’s hit action-comedy The Man from Toronto.

Born Pierson Dane Fodé on November 6, 1991, in Moses Lake, Washington, he grew up on his family’s farm in a tight-knit agricultural community in eastern Washington, often called the “Gem of the Columbia Basin.”

Of mostly German descent with traces of Dutch and English heritage, Fodé was raised in a Christian household by his parents, Ron Fodé and Robin Fodé, hardworking farmers who instilled in their children the values of discipline, perseverance, and resilience.

As the third generation to till the soil in Grant County, Ron and his family have cultivated potatoes, timothy hay, and other crops for over three decades, contributing to the region’s agricultural legacy.

Ron‘s tenure as a farmer hasn’t been without challenges. In 2017, he faced a significant fine of $206,000 from the Washington State Department of Ecology for illegally irrigating 130 acres using water from the stressed Odessa-Touchet aquifer—a resource critical to the area’s sustainability.

A similar issue arose in 2023, when he and local landowners were fined $268,000 for damaging rare wetlands through unauthorized irrigation practices.

Ron‘s commitment to his land remains evident; in 2016, he and Robin auctioned off 1,025 acres of irrigated farmland, citing family health reasons as the impetus to scale back while vowing to continue farming on a smaller scale.

To Pierson, Ron is more than a farmer—he’s a source of inspiration and humour. In a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute shared on social media, Pierson posted snapshots of his dad, captioning one with a lighthearted quip: “I wasn’t always tall.”

Robin Fodé

If Ron is the backbone of the farm, Robin Fodé is its heartbeat. Now 67 and residing at the family home on Road 6 NE in Moses Lake, Robin, Pierson‘s mother, has been Ron‘s partner in both life and labour for decades.

Together, they’ve operated Ron & Robin Fodé JV, a joint venture that underscores their collaborative spirit in managing the farm’s day-to-day operations.

Robin‘s influence extends beyond the fields; she’s an active voice in her community, as seen in 2021 when she addressed the Moses Lake School District board during a heated budget meeting, standing alongside fellow parents to advocate for local education priorities.

For Pierson, Robin represents warmth and encouragement. In a recent Instagram post from a Los Angeles event, he shared a candid reflection on chasing dreams, adding with a smile, “In other news my Mom said I should smile more on the carpet.”
