Early Life & Education

Adelle Onyango was born on February 5, 1989, in Kenya. She is of Luo ethnicity and is a Christian by faith.

Adelle grew up in what she has described as a sheltered household. In her own words, she was raised in a very sheltered family, with parents who wanted the best for her, meaning she had little exposure to unkindness or cruelty growing up.

That protective upbringing would later contrast sharply with the harsh realities she would encounter in public life, from sexual violence to relentless online trolling, all of which she has spoken about candidly over the years.
