Early Life and Education

Born in Florence, Italy, on January 2, 1973, William Terence Kirby is the son of acclaimed poet David Kirby and literary scholar Barbara Hamby, both professors at Florida State University. William spent early years in Europe—attending kindergarten in Paris—before his family relocated to Tallahassee, Florida.

He graduated from Emory University (B.S. in Biology, 1995) and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed postgraduate training in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center (Miami) and dermatology at Western University/Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, where he became Chief Resident in Dermatology.

Dr. Kirby is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology and serves as a clinical assistant professor of dermatology at both Nova Southeastern University and Western University of Health Sciences.

Personal Life

Dr Will Kirby became engaged to For Love or Money winner Erin Brodie in 2011. They married in 2017 and share two children, Cash (b. 2010) and Scarlett (b. 2012). Their divorce was finalized in 2022, though they maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship.
