On December 31, 2021, Hernández signed her first professional contract with Club América in the Liga MX Femenil. She made her professional debut in January 2022 against Pumas. Her first goal as a professional came on February 10, 2022, in a match versus León.
Originally a forward, Hernández was converted into a left-back by América’s manager, and she has since excelled in the deeper role while still contributing offensively. As of mid-2025, she had made over 117 league appearances and scored 11 goals for América.
Though early in her youth she was involved with U.S. youth national team programs, she later opted to represent Mexico at senior level, leveraging her Mexican heritage. She was first called up to the Mexico women’s national team in November 2021 for friendlies against Canada, though she did not participate in that window. She made her senior debut on October 10, 2022, in a friendly versus Chile.
