Borromeo met Pierre Casiraghi at university in Milan and they announced their engagement in 2014.

The couple wed in a civil ceremony on 25 July 2015 in the gardens of the Prince’s Palace of Monaco and held a religious celebration on 1 August 2015 on Isola Bella, Italy.
