She later joined the Melbourne Stars, where she continued to develop her skills as an all-rounder. Sutherland made her international debut for Australia in a T20I match against England on February 1, 2020. She subsequently made her ODI debut on October 3, 2020, against New Zealand and her Test debut on September 30, 2021, against India.

In domestic cricket, Sutherland has represented Victoria in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL). Her versatility and consistency have marked her performances in both domestic and international cricket.
