Early Life and Education

Artur Aleksanyan, now at the age of 34, was born on October 21, 1991, in Gyumri, Armenia. He grew up in a family deeply involved in wrestling; his father, uncle, and brother all participated in the sport.

His father, Gevorg Aleksanyan, an honored coach of Armenia, became his personal coach when Artur began training at age nine in a local wrestling school in Gyumri (which was later named after him in 2015).

Aleksanyan attended the Mikael Nalbandian Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute, where he completed his bachelor’s degree. He continued his studies, earning a master’s degree in management from the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Armenia.
