Nemanja Bjelica started professionally with Red Star Belgrade before moving to Austria’s Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions and later to Bosnia’s KK Igokea. He rose to prominence with Spain’s Caja Laboral (now Baskonia), winning the EuroCup in 2010.
He was drafted 35th overall by the Washington Wizards in 2010 but stayed in Europe, joining Fenerbahçe (2013–2015) where he won the Turkish League and reached the EuroLeague Final Four. In 2015, he signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves as one of the highest-paid European free agents to enter the NBA.
He later played for the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, and Golden State Warriors, winning an NBA title in 2023. Internationally, he helped Serbia win silver at the 2014 FIBA World Cup and 2016 Olympics. He retired in 2024 after a brief stint with Crvena Zvezda.
