Aboki Naira to Dollar Black Market Exchange Rate Today, 9th February 2026
The Nigerian Naira held steady in the parallel market this morning. The black market rate for the US dollar opened between ₦1,450 and ₦1,455 for one dollar.
Most dealers in major cities were selling dollars at around ₦1,455, while buyers offering dollars received roughly ₦1,445 to ₦1,450 in return. The narrow daily movement reflects the calm that has settled over the informal forex space in recent days.

Compared with the official window, where the rate traded closer to ₦1,365 per dollar, the gap between the two markets narrowed to about ₦85–₦90. This tighter spread continues to reflect the effect of recent measures aimed at boosting dollars in circulation and reducing arbitrage incentives.
Demand from small businesses, international school fees, medical travel, and everyday retail needs remains present but has not yet pushed the rate noticeably higher today. Traders expect the level to stay in a similar band unless a large unexpected order or news event shifts sentiment later in the day.
Participants in the parallel market are reminded to stay cautious during transactions and to compare rates across several reliable dealers before exchanging funds.
