In the mid-1960s, Linda McCartney started her career as a photographer. She worked for Town & Country magazine. Soon, she got assignments to photograph musicians and entertainers. By the late 1960s, she became a regular at the Fillmore East in New York. This concert venue was famous, and Linda was the unofficial house photographer.

She captured many performances at this legendary club. Linda also made history by being the first woman to have a photograph on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
