Two years later, he acquired Flex-N-Gate from his former employer and merged it with Bumper Works. Under his leadership, Flex-N-Gate became a major supplier for the automotive industry, notably the sole supplier of bumpers for Toyota in the U.S. by 1989.
In 2012, Khan expanded into sports by purchasing the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL for approximately $770 million. He became the first member of an ethnic minority to own an NFL team.
