Meet Marko Perković Thompson’s Kids: Petar Šimun Perković, Diva Maria, Ante, Cvita, and Katarina Perković

Marko Perković, widely known by his stage name Thompson, is a renowned Croatian musician and the lead singer of the band Thompson, active since 1991.

He gained national fame during the Croatian War of Independence with his patriotic anthem, “Bojna Čavoglave,” which marked the beginning of a music career deeply rooted in themes of faith, homeland, and cultural pride.

Born on October 27, 1966, in Čavoglave, a small village in Croatia’s Dalmatian hinterland (then part of Yugoslavia), Perković is of Croatian ethnicity and a devout Roman Catholic.

In 2003, Marko married Sandra Rogić (Sandra Perković), a Croatian-Canadian from Šibenik whom he met during a concert in Canada. Sandra relocated to Croatia, where the couple initially settled in Zagreb before moving to Split in 2013 to be closer to their Dalmatian roots.

Together, Marko and Sandra have built a strong family centered around their shared values of faith, tradition, and patriotism. They are proud parents of five children: Petar Šimun (born 2003), Ante Mihael (born 2005), Diva Maria (born 2007), and identical twins Cvita and Katarina (born 2010).

Petar Šimun Perković

Born on September 23, 2003, Petar Šimun Perković is the couple’s first child and eldest son, now 21 years old.

As the firstborn, Šimun holds a special place in the family, with Perković noting in a 2009 interview with Večernji.hr that Šimun is particularly close to him, enjoying bedtime stories and moments of bonding.

Described as calm, obedient, and caring, Šimun has grown up in a household where music and patriotism are central themes. While little is publicly known about his current pursuits, his father’s emphasis on raising children near their Dalmatian roots suggests Šimun maintains a strong connection to Čavoglave and family traditions.

Ante Mihael Perković

Ante Mihael Perković, born in 2005, is the second son, currently 20 years old. In 2022, Ante faced a significant health challenge when he was hospitalized due to heart failure, prompting a public call for prayers from Perković’s official Facebook page and the cancellation of his concerts.

The outpouring of support from fans highlighted the family’s public profile and the community’s care for Ante’s recovery. Perković described Ante as strong-willed and independent, traits that likely served him during his health struggles. While updates on his condition are limited, the family’s faith and close-knit support system have been central to his journey.

Diva Maria Perković

Diva Maria Perković, born in 2007, is 18 years old and the eldest daughter. Described by her father as the “little boss” of the family, Diva is outgoing and assertive, with her brothers often following her lead.

In a 2013 interview with Gloria, Perković shared that Diva’s vibrant personality makes her a central figure among her siblings. Her name, reflecting a blend of tradition and flair, suits her commanding presence in the family.

Growing up in Split and spending time in Čavoglave, Diva is part of a family that values togetherness, with her grandparents from Canada often visiting their summer home in Žirje.

Cvita Perković and Katarina Perković

Born in 2010, Cvita Perković and Katarina Perković are the youngest of the Perković children, now 15 years old.

The identical twins were baptized in a special ceremony at the Šibenik Cathedral of St. James, officiated by Bishop Ante Ivas, reflecting the family’s deep Catholic faith. The baptism, attended by their older siblings, Petar Šimun (then 7), Ante (5), and Diva Maria (3), as well as close friends like singers Mate Bulić and Tiho Orlić, was a significant moment for the family.

Perković shared in a 2009 interview with Večernji.hr that he had long prayed for twins, a wish fulfilled with the birth of Cvita and Katarina around Easter 2010. The twins are inseparable, with Perković noting in 2013 that they “cannot be without each other.”

Their close bond and identical nature add a unique dynamic to the family, and their upbringing in Split ensures they are immersed in both urban life and the rural charm of Čavoglave, where they spend weekends with relatives.
