He has a sibling named Louis Elfman. Raised in the Hollywood area, he is the nephew of composer Danny Elfman and grandson of author Blossom Elfman.

Bodhi Elfman began appearing in film and television in the early 1990s, with early credits including Sneakers (1992) and Doing Time on Maple Drive (1992).
He worked steadily in supporting parts throughout the decade, appearing in Wes Craven‘s New Nightmare (1994), A Very Brady Sequel (1996) and several high-profile 1998 releases: Mercury Rising, Godzilla, Armageddon and Enemy of the State.
Additional film roles followed in Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), Keeping the Faith (2000) and Collateral (2004).
