Brandon Joseph Barash was born on October 4, 1979, in St. Louis, Missouri. His parents are Jerry L. Barash and Susan Gale. His parents divorced when he was four, after which he moved to California alongside his father.
The family later relocated to Houston, Texas, where Barash attended Memorial High School.
Barash was raised in a Jewish family and attended Hebrew school before his bar mitzvah. He became interested in acting during high school after being encouraged to audition for a school production. He eventually developed a strong interest in theatre and decided to pursue acting professionally.
