Chris McCausland was born on 15 June 1977 in Liverpool, England, and grew up in West Derby Village, to Mr. McCausland and Mrs. McCausland.
He is the son of a firefighter father and a mother who worked various jobs before becoming a full-time parent. He has a younger sister.
He moved to Surbiton near Kingston upon Thames in 1996 to study at Kingston University, graduating in 2000 with a BSc Honours in Software Engineering.

Chris McCausland began performing stand-up comedy in 2003 after working as a web developer and in sales.
Within his first year he won the Jongleurs J2O Last Laugh competition, finished runner-up in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year, and placed third in Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny? competition.
He became a regular on the comedy circuit, including The Comedy Store, and performed multiple shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. His television breakthrough came in 2006 with the role of Rudi, a blind market trader, in the CBeebies children’s series Me Too!.
