Conrad Coleby was born on September 20, 1979, in Sydney, New South Wales, to British-Australian actor Robert Coleby and former model Lena Taylor. He grew up with his older sister, Anja Coleby, who became an actress, television presenter and reporter.
Conrad Coleby developed an interest in acting at six after attending the Mona Vale Film and Television School.
He later studied at Somerset College, graduating in 1996, before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts (Acting) from Queensland University of Technology.

Conrad Coleby began acting as a child, making his professional screen debut in the 1989 miniseries Tanamera – Lion of Singapore.
He later appeared in Sabrina, Down Under, Water Rats, Flat Chat, Always Greener, and All Saints, where his portrayal of paramedic Scott Zinenko became one of his early major television roles.
