He was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1969 but spent most of his childhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

His father, Dave Roberts (real name: David Thomas Boreanaz), worked as a weatherman and children’s show host, while his mother, Patti Boreanaz, was a travel agent.

David has two older siblings, Bo and Beth. His family heritage includes Italian and Slovene ancestry from his father’s side and a mix of European origins from his mother’s.

His success led to the creation of his series, Angel, which ran for five seasons and revolved around his character’s quest for redemption through battling demons in Los Angeles.

Boreanaz began his successful television career in 2005 when he played FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth on the hit series Bones, which ran for 12 seasons. In addition to acting, he also took on the roles of producer and director for the show.

In 2017, Boreanaz switched to playing Navy SEAL Master Chief Jason Hayes on the CBS series SEAL Team, which is currently in its fifth season.
