David DeLuise was born on November 11, 1971, in Burbank, California. He is the youngest son of legendary comedian Dom DeLuise and actress Carol Arthur, and the younger brother of actors Peter DeLuise and Michael DeLuise.

Growing up in a family deeply involved in entertainment, he developed an interest in acting at an early age and made his screen debut as a child.

He has also spoken publicly about overcoming dyslexia while pursuing his acting career.

David DeLuise began acting in 1979 with a role in Hot Stuff, directed by his father. Throughout the 1990s, he appeared in numerous television series, including Jesse, 3rd Rock from the Sun, ER, Gilmore Girls, and Stargate SG-1, where he portrayed Pete Shanahan.

His biggest breakthrough came in 2007 when he was cast as Jerry Russo, the lovable father and former wizard in Wizards of Waverly Place.

The Disney Channel series became a global hit and ran until 2012, with DeLuise also directing several episodes. He reprised the role in Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.
