Deng Lun was born on October 21, 1992, in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, China. His parents were reportedly in the military. He grew up with his grandparents and continues to spend time with his grandmother.

He pursued his passion for acting by enrolling at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, one of China’s most prestigious institutions for the performing arts. He graduated from the academy in 2011, laying the foundation for his future career in the entertainment industry.

In March 2022, Deng Lun faced significant legal and public scrutiny due to allegations of tax evasion. The Shanghai Tax Bureau reported that between 2019 and 2020, he had underreported his income by transferring earnings through fictitious business accounts, resulting in unpaid taxes amounting to approximately 47.6 million yuan.

Additionally, he was found to have underpaid taxes totalling 13.9 million yuan. Consequently, Deng Lun was fined a total of 106 million yuan (approximately $16.6 million). Following the revelation, he issued a public apology, expressing deep remorse for his actions and a willingness to accept all legal consequences.  

The scandal led to the termination of several endorsement deals and a temporary halt in his acting career. His social media accounts were also affected, with some being suspended or deleted.
