Dondré T. Whitfield began his professional acting career at the age of 15 with a recurring role as Robert Foreman on the NBC sitcom The Cosby Show from 1985 to 1987.
He followed this with a stint on the soap opera Another World before landing the role of Terrence Frye on All My Children from 1991 to 1994, a performance that earned him three Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.
Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, he starred in several sitcoms, including The Crew (1995–96), Between Brothers (1997–99) and Hidden Hills (2002–03).
He also appeared in films such as Two Can Play That Game (2001) opposite Vivica A. Fox, Mr. 3000 (2004) with Bernie Mac, The Salon (2004) and Pastor Brown (2009). Additional credits include Middle of Nowhere (2012), directed by Ava DuVernay.
