Frank Kjosås was born on 28 July 1981 in Øystese, a small community in the Hardanger region of Norway, to Mr. and Mrs. Kjosås. He is one of six siblings, with two brothers and three sisters.

At the age of 15, he decided to become an actor after being inspired by a production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Øystese.

He attended Romerike Folk High School and the Bårdar Dance Institute before pursuing formal acting training at the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre from 2003 to 2006.
