Ify Nwadiwe began his professional career through live improvisational comedy in Los Angeles. He became involved with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and was a member of the all-Black improv group White Women.

He made appearances in comedy productions including Key & Peele and Workaholics before expanding into television writing. His writing credits have included @midnight and other comedy productions, while he later contributed to shows such as Grand Crew and Twisted Metal.
