Early Life

Josh O’Connor came to be on 20 May 1990 in the city of Southampton, England.

He is a Christian with British nationality.

His father, John O’Connor, is a teacher, while his mother, Emily O’Connor, is a midwife.

He is the second child of three boys; his older brother is an artist, while his younger brother, named Seb O’Connor, is an ecological economist and a PhD researcher.

Josh O’Connor grew up in Newbury until he was five years old when his family relocated to Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, where he had his entire upbringing.

In 2013, he appeared as Piotr, in Doctor Who, as Andy, in The Magnificent Eleven, and as Rob Fellows, in Law and Order: UK. He also starred in London Irish as James and The Wiper Times as Dodd.
In 2014, he appeared as Max in the film Hide & Seek, Peaky Blinders as James, and Ripper Street as PC Bobby Grace.

Furthermore, Josh O’Connor played Leo Beresford in the film, Father Brown and a ballroom palace guard in the fairytale film, Cinderella in 2015. He was also on set as Charlie in the short movie, Holding On For A Good Time.
He then acted alongside his then-girlfriend Hannah Murray in the film Bridgend. The film sold out in its premiere in Copenhagen.

In 2017, he appeared as a young sheep Shepard Johnny Saxby in the British drama film titled God’s Own Country, directed by the renowned Francis Lee.
