Luke Wilson, now 52, was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 21, 1971. He is the youngest of three sons of Robert Andrew Wilson, an advertising executive and former executive at KERA, a public television station, and Laura Cunningham Wilson, a photographer.

His brothers are Andrew Wilson and Owen Wilson, who are also actors. He has Irish, English, Scottish, and German ancestry.

Wilson attended St. Mark’s School of Texas as a track and field athlete. He graduated in 1989 and enrolled at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. He dropped out after a year to pursue his acting career.
