He has a half-sister, Alexandra Loeb Driscoll, from his father’s first marriage to Nina Sundby.
After his parents’ divorce when he was one, he was raised mainly by his father on Manhattan’s Upper East Side but also spent three years in Denmark during his father’s diplomatic service.
Loeb studied at the Collegiate School in Manhattan, the Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Finance from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business in 1998.
His ethnicity combines Jewish heritage from his father and Episcopalian from his mother, into which he was baptized.
Career
Nick Loeb began his career in finance and entertainment, leveraging his family’s legacy with Lehman Brothers and Loeb, Rhoades & Co.
After graduating from Tulane, he worked at Lehman Brothers in private banking and at Universal Studios in corporate development and motion picture finance, collaborating with industry leaders like Brian Mulligan, former COO of Seagrams, and Chris McGurk, former President of MGM.
In 1999, he co-founded the International Production Company (IPC) with Michael Niemtzow and Alex Hernandez, producing his first film, The Smokers (2000), which starred Thora Birch and won an Audience Award at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival.
His early acting roles included Primary Colors (1998) and The Good War (2002).
Loeb’s entrepreneurial ventures took off with the founding of Loeb’s Foods in 2006, followed by the Crunchy Condiment Company in 2011, which launched Onion Crunch, generating over $1 million in revenue within its first year and now sold in over 17,000 locations.
He also established Carbon Solutions America, producing the country’s first carbon-neutral wine.
His most significant creative achievement came with Roe v. Wade (2019), where he served as co-writer, co-director, producer, and lead actor, portraying Dr. Bernard Nathanson.
The film won awards like the Jury Prize for Best Historical Film at the Cannes World Film Festival and four awards at the Christian Film Festival, though it sparked controversy for its anti-abortion stance.
Loeb’s recent endeavors include expanding his production work and philanthropy through the Nick Loeb Foundation, which supports historical film projects, leadership speaker series, and scholarships for children of first responders.
He serves as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff and Constable in Louisiana, having trained at the Los Angeles Sheriff Academy.
His acting credits continue with roles in Den of Thieves (2018), The Brawler (2019), and Day of the Dead: Bloodline (2017).
Loeb’s blend of business acumen, entertainment projects, and political involvement, including serving as finance co-chairman for Rudy Giuliani’s 2008 presidential campaign, underscores his multifaceted career.
