He rose to prominence with the historical drama The Glory of Tang Dynasty and subsequently became known for leading roles in Under the Power, One and Only, The Blue Whisper, Thousand Years for You, Love of Nirvana, The Demon Hunter’s Romance and Silent Tides.

Early life and education
Ren Jialun was born Ren Guochao on April 11, 1989, in Qingdao, Shandong, China. He is the son of Mr. And Mrs Jialun Before entering show business, he was a talented table-tennis player.
He began playing at the age of six and was selected for the Shandong provincial team as a teenager. During his sporting years, he trained alongside players who later became internationally prominent, including Zhang Jike.
An injury eventually forced Ren to abandon his ambitions of becoming a professional table-tennis player. After high school, he worked in airport ground handling and flight-related services at Qingdao Liuting International Airport. At the same time, he continued developing his interests in singing and dancing.
Ren began participating in singing and talent competitions around 2008–2010. In 2010, he competed in the Super Voice/Xiansheng Duojin singing competition and received recognition as an Outstanding Asian Games Singer. He later trained in South Korea as part of preparations for a planned Chinese-South Korean idol group.
The planned group did not ultimately launch with Ren as a member. He returned to China and shifted his attention toward acting.
Career
Ren began his acting career in 2014, when he was selected to play the title character Di Renjie in the historical detective drama Detective Dee. Although filmed earlier, the series was not broadcast until 2017.
His early screen work also included Noble Aspirations and Memory Lost, but his major breakthrough came with The Glory of Tang Dynasty (2017).
The series became one of his signature works and helped establish his reputation for playing restrained, authoritative characters.
He received multiple award nominations for the role, including a Golden Eagle Award nomination for Audience’s Choice for Actor and a Huading Award nomination for Best Actor.
