Early Life and Education

Rishabh Shah was born on December 17, 1997, in Enfield, London, England. Brought up by his parents Upendra Shah and Sonal Shah, Indian immigrants from Mumbai and Vadodara who ran a local shop, in a hardworking British-Indian household.

He grew up having one older sister. He attended Grange Park Primary School followed by Haberdashers’ Boys’ School.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Linguistics from King’s College London. His religion is Hinduism.

Career

Rish Shah began his professional acting career in 2017 after completing his university degree and gaining early stage experience.

He made his professional stage debut playing Alan in the London production of Torch Song opposite Jay Lycurgo.

He appeared in the BBC series Years and Years in 2019 and took over the role of Kirin Kotecha in the long-running soap Emmerdale in 2020.
