Sebastian Jessen was born on 7 July 1986 in Søborg, Denmark, to Annette Jessen a laboratory technician, Ole Jessen a real-estate agent.
He has one younger brother, Andreas Jessen, who is also an actor.
He attended Buddinge Skole in the Copenhagen suburb of Søborg, later completed a higher commercial examination (HHX) followed by a two-year marketing education. He is of Danish origin, his religion is Christianity.
Career
Jessen started acting as a child, making early appearances in Danish youth films, series.
Notable early credits include roles in Albert (1998), Kærlighed ved første hik (1999), the Anja og Viktor films, where he played Anja’s younger brother Brian.
He gained wider attention with the youth film Rich Kids (2007), the television series 2900 Happiness. He also provided voice work for animated projects, including a role in Help! I’m a Fish (2000).
In the 2010s he moved into more substantial dramatic roles. He appeared in Susanne Bier‘s Love Is All You Need (2012), took a leading part in the supernatural series Heartless (2014–2015).
His performance as Kristian in While We Live (2017) brought critical recognition, several award nominations.
