Aimee Mann, aged 66 years old, was born on September 8, 1960, in Richmond, Virginia. She spent her early childhood in Bon Air, Virginia, before her parents divorced when she was three.

Aimee Mann began her professional music career in the early 1980s after joining the Boston punk band The Young Snakes. She later co-founded ‘Til Tuesday with Michael Hausman, Robert Holmes and Joey Pesce.
The group signed with Epic Records and released its debut album, Voices Carry, in 1985. The title track became a major commercial success and reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The band released two more albums before eventually disbanding in 1990.
Mann began her solo career with Whatever in 1993 and followed it with I’m with Stupid in 1995. Her profile increased dramatically after director Paul Thomas Anderson asked her to contribute songs to his 1999 film Magnolia.
