Britt Ekland is now 83 years old. She was born on 6 October 1942 in Stockholm, Sweden. Her father, Sven Eklund, owned a high-end clothing store in Stockholm and was also captain of the Swedish national curling team; her mother Maj Britt worked as a secretary.

As a teenager she left formal schooling to travel with a theatre company. While in Italy she was noticed by a talent agent in a coffee shop, which led to her being sent to London to audition for films.
