China Kantner came into the world on 25 January 1971 in San Francisco, California, to parents Grace Slick, the iconic singer of Jefferson Airplane, and Paul Kantner, the band’s guitarist and co-founder.
She has two half-brothers, Gareth Alexander Kantner and Alexander Kantner. Raised primarily in San Francisco and later Mill Valley, she attended Tamalpais High School and Redwood High School before studying at Santa Monica College and the University of California, Los Angeles.
