Jojo T. Gibbs was born on April 15, 1989, in Gaffney, South Carolina. She was raised by her great-grandparents in Hampstead, North Carolina, where she spent much of her childhood. Jojo T. Gibbs attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
Although she initially considered journalism as a career, negative experiences with faculty members eventually discouraged her from pursuing the profession.
